Jays Bistro is located on our ground floor and is one of the cheapest of its kind. It is known around town for its generous portions and exceptional quality of food. Jay’s Bistro is expediently open for the lunch rush and extends to Wednesday through to Friday evenings for dinner (great with after work drinks at Happy Hour!)

BARS
Traders Bar
This is the central bar and is the hotels busiest. The Traders bar also provides gaming facilities and is the only bar in the CBD which allows for personal purchases of full size bottled alcoholic beverages from its extensive range at the Bottleshop which is available for consumption within the hotel.

Monday to Friday: 10.30am – 12.00am (midnight) Saturday: 11.30am – 7.00pm
New York Bar
A more traditional bar, the New York Bar is smaller and has a vintage feel to the room creating a sense of intimacy, well suited to those looking to catch up over drinks. The New York Bar has a Victorian Regency interior and advantageously fits the history behind the hotel.

Happiest Hours
What is a local pub without Happy Hour? The Occidental goes above and beyond to provide its customers with more than just one hour; The Occidental offers the Happiest Hours between 4 - 8pm Monday to Friday. We offer great discounts on all tap beers, house spirits and wine. The fun doesn’t just stop there. The Occidental’s Happiest Hours also extends to the Glenmore Room on the 2nd floor for Friday lunchtime bookings. Bookings are available for both small and large groups.

The Glenmore Room
This is a private room sectioned off from the open areas of the hotel. Table bookings can be made for both small and large groups. (No specific time, the booking can be made for a time that is best suited to you).
